History
Lutheran
Campus
Ministry (LCM) at St. Cloud State University began in February
of 1956.
Over the years, LCM was served by Howard Walton, Warren Jorensby,
Joseph Ottoson, Sarah Nelson, David Doppenberg, Darius Larsen and Signe
Gray.
University Lutheran Church of the Epiphany (ULCE) was founded in 1992 and was chartered as a recognized congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1994. Pastor Darius Larsen and Associate in Ministry Signe Gray were the campus ministers until 2003. In April of 2005, Pastor Jayne M. Thompson was called to serve as the Pastor to the campus and the congregation. She began her ministry on May 10, 2005.
LCM
& ULCE
have
a long and cherished history of holding the ministries of peace and
justice before the people of God who gather in this place and
throughout the entire church. To this day, LCM/ULCE has been a
Reconciling in Christ ministry of the ELCA since 1986 offering a public
welcome to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning folks and
their allies, families and friends. LCM & ULCE also participate in
many
other justice and peace ministries including the Community Meal,
Habitat For Humanity and Church of the Week.
LCM & ULCE
continues to be a light for Christ : a Candle
for Campus and Community!

Children in Worship
Children are always welcome in worship here at
University Lutheran. We also invite our young friends to assist
with worship on the 5th Sunday of the month for Kids Sunday.
If your young one gets a little restless, they can move
to the Kid's Area Rug in the back of the Worship Area. We have
"Quiet Friends" that your child can play with to keep occupied.
We also have our nursery available during worship for
any young
one who is having trouble sitting still or just needs a little
playtime. It is always staffed with qualified, capable and caring
people, most often SCSU students. The nursery is also available
for other church gatherings upon request.
